First
of all, I would like to apologize for the long silence. At the beginning of
March, I was still at my beach house when I was forced to hurry back to
Curitiba (city where I live) due to the fact we were already under the threat
of the pandemic by Covid-19. A few days after my return, quarantine was decreed
and, since then solving personal issues I was unable to make new posts. The
quarantine continues but a little more relaxed now, I’m returning to my blog.

Antes
de mais nada, gostaria de me desculpar com vocês pelo longo silêncio. No início
do mês de março, eu ainda estava em minha casa de praia quando me vi obrigado a
retornar às pressas para Curitiba (cidade onde resido) pois já estávamos sobre
a ameaça da pandemia pelo Covid-19. Pouco dias após meu retorno, foi decretada
a quarentena e, desde então, resolvendo questões pessoais, fiquei

“History of Art in Macramé”.
Well!!!
I Always liked macramé arts but, after knowing its beauty and seeing its use in
modern decoration, I decided to learn a little of this art. So, I started by
learning how to make Macramé Plant Hangers.

”História da Arte em Macramê”. Bem!!! Eu sempre gostei de artes em macramê mas,
depois de saber de sua beleza e ver sua aplicação na moderna decoração, resolvi
também aprender um pouco dessa arte. Assim, comecei aprendendo a como fazer
Suportes para Plantas em Macramê.

of all, I would like to say that for my work I’ll be using only the Macramé
Basic Knots: Square knot

Otherwise,
it’s also possible the use of beads and stones in macramé works. Unfortunately,
I didn’t find nice pieces in my city’s business areas so, there’s none of them
in my works.

As
I’m an infatuated with gardening and landscaping the first thing I wanted to
learn was how to make a Plant Hanger. For that, I went on YouTube and watched
countless tutorials teaching how to make a plant hanger. Next, I prepared a
material list required to make my macramé work and went shopping.

Como
eu sou um apaixonado por jardinagem e paisagismo, a primeira coisa que eu quis
foi aprender a como fazer um Suporte para Vasos de Plantas. Para isso, acessei
o YouTube a assisti a inúmeros tutoriais ensinando a como fazer tal suporte. Em
seguida, preparei uma lista de material necessário para fazer meu trabalho de
macramê e fui às compras.

Here are some of my macramé Works.
The
photo above shows a beautiful and simple plant hanger made with sisal rope
(diameter: 8 mm). In this work I used Simple Knot and the Gathering Knot. For
work with sisal rope gloves are required to avoid injuring the hands. In this
pot I have a Snake Plant (Mother-in-Law’s Tongue).
Aqui estão alguns de meus trabalhos em macramê.
A
foto acima mostra um lindo e simples suporte para plantas feito com corda de
sisal (diâmetro: 8 mm). Neste trabalho utilizei apenas Nós Simples e o Nó de Laço.
Para os trabalhos com corda de sisal é necessário o uso de luvas para não ferir
as mãos. Vaso com “Espada de São Jorge”.
The
photo above shows another pot with Snake Plant. In this work I also used sisal
rope (diameter: 8 mm). For the macramé technique I used the Square Knots,
Spaces between knots with different measurements and the Gathering Knot. Simple
and beautiful hanger.

foto acima mostra outro vaso com Espada de São Jorge. Para esse trabalho eu também
utilizei corda de sisal (diâmetro: 6 mm). Para a técnica de macramê eu utilizei
o Nó Quadrado, Espaços entre nós com diferentes medidas e o Nó de Laço. Suporte
simples e bonito.
For
this other pot with Snake Plant, I made a hanger using sisal rope (diameter: 5
mm) and worked with the Square Knot, the Spiral Knot, Spaces between knots and
the Gathering Knot. Simple work and an excelent visual effect.
Para
esse outro vaso com Espada de São Jorge, eu também usei corda de sisal
(diâmetro: 5 mm) e trabalhei com o Nó de Laço, o Nó Quadrado, o Nó Espiral,
Espaços entre os nós e o Nó de Laço. Trabalho simples e um efeito visual
excelente.
In
this pot I have the beautiful Nepenthes plant. Nepenthes
is a genus of carnivorous plants, also known as tropical pitcher plants (here). It is on a macramé hanger in which I used
cotton rope (3 mm). In this hanger I initially worked with the Square Knot but
working with all wires to execute it. Next, I also used the Spiral Knot, Spaces
between knots and finished my work with the Gathering Knot. Pleasant work, fast
and beautiful.
Este
vaso com a linda planta Nepenthes. Nepenthes é um
gênero de plantas carnívoras, também conhecidas como plantas jarro (aqui). Esta planta está suspensa em um suporte em
macramê no qual usei corda de algodão (3 mm). Neste suporte, trabalhei inicialmente
com o Nó Quadrado e usando todos os fios para executá-lo. Também usei o Nó
Espiral, Espaços entre os nós e finalizei com o Nó de Laço. Trabalho prazeroso,
rápido e bonito.
Asplenium is a genus of about 700 species of ferns. Such
species have different popular names such as: Spleenworts, Bird’s-nest ferns
and Walking ferns (here). Here we can see a
beutiful pot with an Asplenium Fern on a macramé hanger worked in cotton rope
(3 mm). In this hanger, I worked with the Square Knot, Sapaces between knots
and small loops as a nice detail. Beautiful and charming hanger.
Asplenium é um gênero de samambaia com cerca de 700
espécies. Tais espécies apresentam diferentes nomes populares, tais como: Ninho
de Passarinho (aqui). Aqui vemos um lindo
vaso com Samambaia Asplênio suspenso em um suporte em macramê trabalhado em
corda de algodão (3 mm). Neste suporte, trabalhei com o Nó Quadrado, Espaço
entre os nós e, como detalhe, pequenos laços. Suporte lindo e charmoso.
Platycerium bifurcatum, the Elkhorn Fern or
Staghorn Fern is a species of fern very popular in Brazil. For this pot with my
Staghorn Fern I used a macramé hanger worked with cotton rope (4 mm). In this
work, I used in a different way from the previous ones, the Square Knot, the
Spiral Knot, Spaces between the knots and the Gathering Knot. Very nice plant
hanger.
Platycerium
bifurcatum, Chifre de Veado é uma espécie de samambaia muito comum no Brasil.
Para este meu vaso com Chifre de Veado, usei um suporte em macramê trabalhado
com corda de algodão (4 mm). Neste trabalho, usei de uma maneira diferente dos
anteriores, o Nó Quadrado, o Nó Espiral, os Espaços entre os nós e o Nó de
Laço. Lindo suporte.

I like and I can’t deny!!!
In
this work I unleashed my imagination. For this hanger I used cotton rope, (4
mm) and created a strip by applying a Square Knots sequence using all the
threads. I also applied the Spaces between the knots and finished my work with
the Gathering Knot. The final result is a different and beautiful work.

que você já percebeu o quanto eu gosto da Espada de São Jorge (rsrsrsrs). Pois
é!!! Gosto e não nego!!!.
Neste
trabalho, eu soltei minha imaginação. Usei aqui a corda de algodão (4 mm) e,
inicialmente, criei uma faixa aplicando uma sequência de Nós Quadrados usando
todos os fios. Da mesma forma, apliquei o Espaços entre os nós e terminei o
trabalho com o Nó de Laço. Trabalho diferente e muito bonito.
For
this beautiful flower pot I created a macramé plant hanger using cotton rope (4
mm) and made another variation with our known knots. So, I used in this work
the Square Knot, the Spiral Knot, Space between the knots and I finished up
with the Gathering Knot. I loved the result.
Para
este lindo vaso de flores, criei um suporte em macramê usando corda de algodão
(4 mm) e fiz uma outra variação entre os nossos conhecidos nós. Assim, usei
neste trabalho o Nó Quadrado, o Nó Espiral, o Espaço entre os nós, e terminei
com o Nó de Laço. Adorei o resultado.
